Local health charity Women & Health provided free office rental from Jan 04 to April 05, in return for Boo renovating their derelict garage and helping with staff recruitment.

Zoë Horton volunteered in the office for 6 months and Edwina Rigby for 3; 6 people served on the board of directors: Daniel Dacre, Alex Fraser, Fiona Incledon, Polly McLean, David Phillips OBE (Chair) and Ratna Vohora. The company also hosted 2 interns from Indiana University’s Marketing degree course and one from The Prince's Trust.

In December 2004 Get Well UK was the first organisation to receive funding from government agency Futurebuilders England, a Treasury funding stream established to improve public service delivery through investment in the voluntary and community sectors. The funding comprised a £100,000 performance-related investment and £250,000 in loan finance over three years.

Boo Armstrong, managing director, received a £15,000 level 2 grant from UnLtd social enterprise start-up support fund, and receives monthly mentoring from Jane Tebbey, head of CSR at Morley Fund Management. This is arranged through the Business in the Community Partners in Community Leadership scheme. Boo was also a finalist in the 2004 New Statesman Upstart Awards, Young Social Entrepreneur category.

Get Well UK was unsuccessful in its attempts to raise funds from several grant-making trusts. However, individual donors generously helped the company through difficult times via the Founding Friends scheme, The Funding Network and the Network for Social Change (total approx £50,000).
