Get Well NI - a BBC documentary

Get Well NI is an hour-long television programme made by Tern TV, narrated by Feargal Keane, looking at Get Well UK's one year pilot project which operated in two clinics in Northern Ireland until March 2008. The scheme allowed GPs to refer patients to complementary therapists with their treatment being paid for by the NHS. This brilliant story, told from the patients' perspectives, illustrates what healthcare and democracy is all about.

The programme was broadcast on BBC1 Northern Ireland on 5 May 2008. Watch it in three parts below.

In part one, below, we learn about the scale of the health problems in Northern Ireland and the hopes of project manager Boo Armstrong who will run the year long project for the government.

In part two, Amy tries out acupuncture instead of the medications she's been taking for her chronic pain: medications which make her confused and don't seem to be solving he problem.

In part three, we hear from Michael McGimpsey MLA, the Health Minister for N. Ireland, who share his thoughts on where the project should go next.
