David Phillips OBE Chair

  • started professional life as a dentist in 1964
  • joined the Medical Protection Society in 1981, becoming both head of the Dental Division and Secretary and Dental Director of a new division called Dental Protection before retiring in December of 1999
  • former lay member of the General Osteopathic Council from its inception as a regulatory body for seven years
  • served as an advisor to the House of Commons Select Committee
  • awarded an OBE in 1994 for his services to dentistry
  • now focuses on chair appointments in the healthcare sector

Alex Fraser Finance Director

  • is the Chief Executive of the National Land Information Service
  • implemented the online VAT system for HM Customs and Excise, while he was the Director of Logistics
  • introduced complementary therapies in a corporate environment
  • former Director of Schroders Bank, with global responsibilities

Nigel Beverley

  • is Business Department Director, Medical Services for Atos Origin
  • is a former Chief Executive of both Wellhouse NHS Trust and North Essex Health Authority
  • has extensive experience as a consultant working in the NHS across PCTs and Trusts in England

Ian Swash

  • an osteopath with 30 years clinical experience
  • served on the General Osteopathic Council from 2001-2006 and was previously the chairman of The Guild of Osteopaths (1990-1996)
  • has served as Principal and Head of Health Sciences at the Oxford School of Osteopathy (1990-1998) and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing

Asgar Hassanali

  • insurance and risk management advisor to the Health Care Sector
  • 28 years experience working in the London Insurance market and being part of the team that developed innovative solutions to manage risks. Particular emphasis has been in the emerging primary care arena and complementary medicine
  • member of the General Medical Council's expert panel advising on reforms and solutions to the risk and insurance issues facing GMC Registered Practitioners in the future
  • has work very closely with most State and self regulated organisations within UK Complementary Medicine - developing appropriate risk management solutions to enable patient and practitioner protection
  • Has run his own business speicalising in Medical Professional Indemnity and currently Director of a city based Insurance Broker, developing a similar speciality
  • an active commissioned member of the RAF Volunteer Reserves working with cadets undertaking glider flying training

 

Fiona Incledon

  • consultant working in organisational change in the NHS, who has worked for a variety of clients and understands the complexity of the environment
  • has broad experience with a variety of tools and approaches, including storytelling and appreciative inquiry
  • has a keen interest in influencing the public policy environment
  • main focuses include working with information and knowledge in changing environments and believes in the need for creating strong relationships with service providers and deliverers
